Nineteen Years Old (And this is my 19th Post!)

This past weekend I turned the big 1-9! The last year to be a teenager. Kind of weird, really. I had a blast though. For example: I haven't been to Salt Lake City since I was about 7 and I really wanted to go and visit Temple Square. So I did. My roomies and a good friend all piled in the car with me and we took the 45 minute trip to Salt Lake. It was so much fun. Just everything about it was amazing. I felt the Spirit so strongly and at the most random times, like seeing the pulley system they used to help build the Temple. It was just amazing. No words can describe it. After that trip I've decided that on my birthday I will always do something spiritual that I wouldn't do everyday.
After SLC, we went to my favorite restaurant, or at least burger place, Red Robin. Yumm. Crispy Chicken Burger with just lettuce and mayo. It was amazing. We pretty much filled up on wonderful food and had to waddle back to the car.
When we got home we started decorating and getting ready for my party. Which probably wouldn't look like anything special to those big party goers but it was one of the most special birthdays ever. I had a family away from home with all of my friends. Even the ones who came and left pretty quickly meant so much to me and I was more than elated that they came.
It's so wonderful how the Lord knows exactly who to put in your life to make it easier. Don't get me wrong, I adore my family but it's not like I could just fly home for everything. It's just the most amazing thing to realize that the Lord knows what He's doing even when you don't.
There is a song that I've come to love so much. It just seems to apply to my life right now. The words are really applicable and the music they are put to is happy but not like a get-up-and-dance kind of happy. lol. It's called Older by Colbie Caillat.
Here are the lyrics:
Waited all my life for this day to come
I feel like letting go
Life goes on
Wasting no more time
So much to be done
Everything works out
So they say
Over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
Yeah, yeah

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Here before my eyes
Many roads ahead
Time for me to choose one way now
If I take a chance
What lies down the road
Feeling so confused
Turned around
On and on
On and on
Yeah, yeah'

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Waited all my life for this day to come
I feel like letting go
Life goes on
Over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
Yeah, yeah'

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
I always thought that I knew where I'd want to go
Now I'm here and I find that I'm still getting colder
It's kinda tough getting older

Seems like nothing is black and white anymore
Shades of gray and I feel a weight over my shoulder
It's tough getting older
It think that about sums it up!
