Really? W.O.W.

Not even two full days have passed and I already have another complaint to add to the currently rapidly growing list of annoyances. Today's pick? The male sex. Someone please gag me.
Why is it that when a young, outgoing, smart, funny woman merely asks how a young man is enjoying the day or perhaps how his weekend was or maybe even how he's liking the new classes of the semester, his mind is translating all of that into, "Holy cow. She must like me." Yeah, because any normal young woman couldn't simply just be trying to become your friend. I mean, the girl doesn't even know you but you got it mister! After one brief 3 minute conversation and an awkward side hug, she's already got the dates planned for your wedding, colors and all.
Really?
Does it not ever occur to some guys that it truly is possible for a girl to want to talk to you because she wants to be your friend? I mean, you're new to the area, you go to church together so shouldn't you be happy that people want to talk to you, get to know you a bit? And not automatically assume that all this friendly girl wants to do is marry you? 9 times out of 10, boys, she doesn't like you, especially if you've just met.
So, you wanted to know what it's like living inside a girl's head. Well, here's a treasure you can tuck away and pull out whenever you're feeling confused: If you think a girl likes you after one maybe two conversations but you think that's just a little creepy so you stop talking to her and as a result she stops trying to be your friend, you have no right, or in other words, don't you dare think that you can complain that you wish you knew more girls and so on because the only person to blame is yourself.
It makes me sick to see it! It happens almost every week! Guys, WAKE UP! Pull your heads OUT of the ostrich hole of stupidity and cockiness and smell the potent coffee! Girls like to talk, girls like to get to know new people! Don't assume anything. Because we all know what happens when you assume! And who wants to create that awkwardness? Certainly not me.
One last thing, fellas, next time a girl asks you a question or seems interested in that song that your playing on the piano (in a very public venue, might I add) or wants to know what your favorite game is, don't assume that she wants to marry you and have your babies.
You have no idea how much I'm sickened by the male race right now...

  1. My thoughts exactly. It's frustrating that I can't make friends with anyone for that very reason. Gah!

  2. Boys are so stupid. Always have been, always will be. Just wait till you actually are married to one. Then you'll say something like this, "Are you seriously making a 'stupid man' comment? Seriously? Because it is not needed at the moment. Thank you."

    LOL!
