Delicate

Yes, sometimes my emotions are frayed and wear thin and sometimes I feel fragile and weak. I think it's something everyone goes through at least once in their life but sometimes I feel like it's lasted too long.
A little while ago I had the amazing opportunity to go to MOAB! YAY! I had a lot of fun just turning off my cell phone and connecting with nature. Hiking, playing in the stream, climbing rocks, sleeping on the ground with rocks poking you in your back....it was great fun! But day 2 of my adventures led to a discovery. We hiked the "Arches" hike. It's so amazing what nature can do. It was gorgeous and I got to see Delicate Arch.

First of all it was SO windy up there that I had a hard time standing. Secondly, that arch is called delicate for a reason. Yet, even though that arch face super strong winds almost everyday, winds that carve away at it and shape it...it still stands and it is beautiful.
It still stands. It's delicate yet it can withstand the fierce winds that beat upon it every day. So if it can handle all of that terrible wind, so can I. I can get through heartache, sorrows, death and misery. My trials may chip away at me but I know that if I can handle them the way that God would have me handle them, I will be shaped and I will be more beautiful because of it.
I am not fragile, I am not weak.
I am delicate and that's fine with me.

Debbie Downers

You know they exist. You know at least one of them. I am unfortunate enough to know at least TWO. Which is WAY too much if you ask me. No matter what you say or how positive you try to make a situation...BAM they find one phrase, one word or one blasted negative thought to make you feel like the biggest meanest lightning storm shut out the most beautiful, sunshiny day. UHG! I hate them. Not them...just their attitude. But REALLY?!

So, this is my plea to you. The next time you decide to open your mouth because you want to be matter-of-factly or you want to complain about someone you just helped over the phone (clearly forgetting that you work in the CUSTOMER SERVICE business) just stop. Count to ten and think about the Negative Nancy people may peg you as and how you might lose friends. Think about how much of a Johnny Raincloud you're going to morph into.

Nobody likes a Debbie Downer.
Especially me.

Jazzed

Yes, my friends I had the opportunity to go to Game four of the Jazz vs. Lakers NBA play-offs. I. Was. STOKED. I had so much fun. Seriously, I know why the energy solutions arena is the loudest arena EVER. No, joke kids. My ears were ringing for two hours after the game! Anyway, my friend graciously invited me to the game with her so how could I refuse? I couldn't. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to go to such a fabulous game...even though we lost. Aside from seeing the game, being blown away by how tall Lamar Odom (Laker...BOO) really is and experiencing the excitement of such an AWESOME group of fans, I had a tiny chat with Elder L. Tom Perry! Yes, I know, it's crazy but I did!

Here's how it went:
E.P.: How'd you like the game?
Me: It was good, even though we lost.
( I proceeded to shake his hand.)
E.P.: What happened to you?
(My wrist was/is in a splint...nothing serious really.)
Me: Oh, just played too hard.
E.P.: Soccer?
Me: Football!
-Elder Perry laughed and shook his head at me.

Short but SAWEET! Seriously, I was on a cloud all night! General Authorities R-O-C-K!!!

It's Been A Long Week.

A long week only means a long weekend. Therefore, I am happy. Today there is a ward party and later tonight is Jackie's birthday party! It's going to be a grand day!

Sundays

How I love Sundays!

Why?

Well...

1. I get to go to Church. :)

2. Then come hope and take a N-A-P!

3. And I actually have time to make tasty little chewies!

And those are only 3 reasons!
